Shelley Riley is the Director of The Riley Group and a specialist recruitment professional with more than 20 years of experience across the UK and North American markets.

Shelley began her recruitment career in London, where she spent 12 years establishing herself in one of the world's most competitive recruitment markets. She became a top-billing recruiter and moved into leadership at a young age, managing recruitment teams across five offices while still in her twenties for one of London's largest recruitment companies.

After relocating to Canada, Shelley initially specialised in Civil Engineering, building her knowledge and network across the engineering and infrastructure sectors. She later expanded her focus into Architecture and Design and Real Estate Development, developing an extensive network across Canada's built environment.

Today, Shelley recruits across Architecture and Design, Construction, Real Estate Development and Civil Engineering, with a particular focus on Toronto and Vancouver.

Her experience spans every level of recruitment, from emerging professionals and highly specialised technical appointments through to senior leadership and executive search. She also partners with built-environment organisations on specialist corporate appointments across Health and Safety, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Business Development and Operations.

With more than two decades in recruitment, Shelley combines deep market knowledge with an extensive network and a targeted, headhunting-led approach. Her philosophy is straightforward: successful recruitment is not about presenting the most candidates. It is about understanding the business, knowing the market and identifying the right person.
